I am catching up with posting online my articles.
So today I took my computer chair to the shop because I was having a problem with it. Some of the screws were loose and I could not get to them. I mean... I knew how I could get to them but then I would have to make the holes in the leather cover. The seat was relatively knew ( 2 months old ) and it was under manufacturer guarantee. So I thought I will take the seat to the shop and I will try to get my money back or at least I will try to get some discount. If I got the money back I would buy myself another chair more comfortable that the one that I have. And this was the main reason for all these whole hassle.
Thus I went to the shop and I explained my problem. Then there came the person ( handy man ) to have a look at the chair. He confirmed that as such we can do nothing without making the holes and slightly damaging the leather cover. Then he went to speak with his boss about what to do with this situation. When he came back he told me that he will give me another chair and he went bring it from the warehouse. I wanted to suggest that I would repair it myself if they would give me some 50% discount but I did not say it as he left quickly.
So I thought: "they will take it back to the manufacturer to repair it and later they would sell it as a discounted price". But I was naive. Another person ( who was preparing me new invoice ) told me that they will contact the manufacturer but most probably the chair will be destroyed and thrown out to rubbish. I could not believe it what I heard. In that moment I really regretted that I took this chair to the shop.
Well... I think that this would be easy to fix but then maybe I was wrong. Maybe this would not be so easy to repair. But still I am inclined to say that it was relatively easy to fix it although I would have to make the holes. But the point is that this was a relatively comfortable computer chair. It was only 2 months old and now most probably it will end up in the rubbish.
What a waste of resources !!!
In a sense this is my fault. Here I have realised that I have to be more decisive and take initiative because I should have suggested that would try to fix it if they offered me a discount. And even if they didn't I should have taken this chair with me and fix it anyway. Having few holes in the cover is much better than throwing the whole chair into rubbish.
