I am catching up with posting online my articles.
In the last couple of months I have been indicating in my articles that I am under constant "pressure" of mountain of responsibilities which are overwhelming and sometimes giving and causing stress. Apart from feeling stressed I was also frustrated because I wanted to finish all the pending tasks and be "free" but I could not do it as there was always something coming on preventing me from finishing all the jobs which have been waiting in the queue for weeks and even months.
On couple of occasions I tried to make the plan on how to finish my pending jobs but that did not work too well. One of the reasons was that working hours at my main job are fluctuating and it was impossible to stay with the plan. But then I also have to say that it did not work because I was not disciplined enough.
Anyway I have been testing for the last week a new method and I see that it is actually very effective.
Thus in the morning I make myself a list of the jobs which I want to do that day and I place it on the desktop of my computer. Once I finish a certain job I put a strike across it and I leave it until the end of the day. And so I go one by one. Then at the end of the day or the next day in the morning when I make a new list I delete them and so I have a clean sticky note. This way I can see the progress and I know that my mountain of pending jobs is getting smaller each day.
Of course because of the nature of my main job with fluctuating hours I am not always able to finish all my daily jobs. But that is no problem anymore because I leave them for the next day and I try to finish them first before making any new list.
This is genius !!!
