I am catching up with posting online my articles.
This is the continuation of the previous article:
DOUBTS OF THE THERAPISTS - HELP OR NOT TO HELP ? - PART 1
DOUBTS OF THE THERAPISTS - HELP OR NOT TO HELP ? - PART 2
The answer to these questions is not straight forward but let's have a look at couple of examples from real life because this will help us to get the clarity about it.
Thus once I had a client who came to me with the complaint in his shoulder. During the treatment he told me that he was in the process of establishing new factory of alcoholic drink. When it comes to alcohol my stand is completely clear: "I do not support it". I am so strict about it simply because the global damage and suffering caused by and related to alcohol is enormous and this is the way I say no to it. Though I was no sure what to do about it in that moment when I was with my client thus I finished the treatment and I went home. Then later that day I had some thoughts about it. And in the end I decided that the next time my client calls me I would explain him about my stand towards the alcohol and about my decision to not attend him anymore unless he stops his business. Hi did not call me ever again but at the same time it was all about me and my decision. And thanks to this situation I got my clarity when it comes to this point.
And what about other clients who do not tell me what they do ? And even if they tell I do not know the details to be able to see whether they are doing some devil shit ?
Well... I just let it be for now but when I get to know somebody closer ( repetitive clients ) and I get to know what they are doing then I can make appropriate decision. Though it does not mean that I should always refuse to attend these people and cut them off immediately. Because I may try to talk with them and help them to understand the consequences of their action. You'll see... we are doing things in this world because we have taken for granted that they are normal and completely acceptable ( e.g. being a soldier and going to the war ). And we have never really stopped to ask a simple yet critical question: "Is it really normal ?". And thus by talking to these people ( in this case my clients ) I may give them opportunity to see the reality of what they are doing to themselves and to this world. And through this they may change it within themselves. But then when I see they have become aware of the point but they don't change it, then I may make the decision to not attend them. And so this is my way to express my stand: "no more bullshit allowed".
