War in Syria and the cockroaches

Catching up with posting online my articles because of being fed up with the working on the computer. I am witting my articles every day as part of my commitment... just posting is lagging...

I am sure that you wouldn't like to find yourself in a situation when you live in constant fear that somebody will kill you. But some of us have no choice because there is a war in their country and there is no way to escape it. For example the war in Syria has been already going on for about 2 years and people living there are forced to face it every day.

Myself I have never been in the war zone and I don't know exactly how it is but at the same time I don't need to have real experience of it to know that this is fucked and that I would like to find myself in this situation.

Anyway the reality of people being there is that they live in constant fear of being killed either by the bombs or by the enemies. And it is not that you can take a plane and live the country because you don't like it. You are literally forced to be there, deal with it and hope that you will somehow survive.

I don't know exactly what people do there to survive but in some way they must get at least food and water etc. I don't know how they do it but I could imagine that they must go out of their home sometimes to get it. And although there is always a possibility that you will be killed in your own home by a bomb, going outside of your home will increase the risk. But you have no choice and you have to go to get the food.

And as I said in the very beginning, I am sure that you wouldn't like to be there yourself. But because we live in the fucked up world where we live in a total separation from each other, we will continue to live our easy and lazy life in front of the TV and we will not do anything to help those who are in the war zone and who have to experience it on a daily basis.

Now... what does the war in Syria has to do with the cockroaches ?

Well... imagine that the life of the cockroach is almost the same as life of a person in the war zone. It may be killed anytime in its home either by a chemical weapons ( insect killer ) or being smashed by your shoe ( which would be comparable with the bomb or being shot dead by a sniper ) when it gets outside of its home to get some food because this cockroach must eat just like humans or any other being on earth. This cockroach leaves its home at night when there is nobody around in the kitchen to minimize the risk of being caught and killed.

I know that it seems to be strange to write about cockroaches as if it was a human being. Well... yes... it is strange because most of the time we think of them as something ugly and it gives us fear and disgust. But we must realize that this "ugly and disgusting" cockroach is another form of life. And it wants to live just like you in peace, have food and feel safe.

And this is the point about equality of life. Every human and every other being should have the equal right to live. It doesn't matter whether it is in the body of a human, dog, cat or cockroach... in the end it is an expression of life. One thing that also helped me to understand this point ( which has been introduced by the Desteni Group ) about the equality was when I saw pictures of insects which were taken with special magnifying camera showing all the details of their body. And it was amazing to see the beauty of it and really complex organism. Until this moment I had a picture in my mind that cockroach is something which is disgusting and dirty and based on belief in my mind I have allowed myself to react in fear and disgust. And then I have realized that the insects are also beings and they have their body which is really amazing.

But does it mean that we should allow the cockroaches to overtake our homes ?

No... I don't mean that we should let them breed without restrictions and let them take over our home. But we should try to find ways to find the solution so that the cockroaches can also enjoy their life as much as humans without interfering with each other, we should stop being afraid of them and we should stop killing them and smashing them with our shoes which is quite often being done for "fun".
