I am catching up with posting online my articles.
This is the continuation of the previous article:
CONSEQUENCES OF PROHIBITING ALCOHOL - PART 1
CONSEQUENCES OF PROHIBITING ALCOHOL - PART 2
So I repeat that sudden cut and prohibiting sale and production of alcohol would be incredible ( at least temporary ) shock for our economy. Of course in this situation the alcohol would be accessible through the black market at higher price and people would start home "production". This is like with the drugs. They are prohibited but still they are relatively easy accessible anywhere.
But if we managed to somehow stop completely access to alcohol ( including the black market ) then this would be absolute shock to the whole economic and as a matter of fact the global system.
Now... here is a very important point to consider. In general we associate the alcohol with car and other accidents, violence, abuse, unwanted pregnancies, crime etc. Of course there is also the element of fun associated with the alcohol but without any doubt the statistics show that alcohol and the bad things go hand in hand - the more alcohol people drink the more accidents and abuse there is.
But can we be 100% sure that once we prohibit alcohol we would have immediately less cases of accidents etc.?
Well... look... the answer to this question is not straight forward.
If somebody makes self-conscious and self-aware decision about stopping alcohol then the answer would be YES... we would have immediate drop in the accidents, abuse, crime etc. But forcing people to stop drinking alcohol through legal prohibition will not have the same effect.
Why not ?
Look... at the moment alcohol is being used as a suppression drug. People take it to forget about all the problems and supress them. And thus in the moment when we suddenly and "forcefully" take the alcohol from them then all the supressed thing will start to come up and many people won't be able to handle all the shit hitting the fan. And in this situation we could even expect more violent and more extreme behaviours.
Of course eventually this would calm down and then people would realise how much harm they were doing to themselves by drinking alcohol.
