I am catching up with posting online my articles.
The thing with multitasking is not new to me as I have been experimenting with it for some years now. But lately I had a phase when I put a lot of effort into maintaining the awareness of breath while working with my computer. I have decided to do it because I see that this is my weak point and after working for few hours I end up really tired and my breathing is very shallow. And I do not like it at all.
Now... this thing with shallow breathing is not just the thing related exclusively to the computer. It is very common among humans once we concentrate on certain tasks and especially those that we want to finish as soon as we can.
And so I got myself lately into training my multitasking skill ( breathing and working with the computer ) while playing computer game. And I have to say that this is very interesting exercise as I had to on one hand concentrate on the game to finish it on time and then on the other hand I tried to maintain my awareness of breathing. And this is very interesting exercise but I also see that it is very difficult to accomplish it. I can see some improvements after doing it regularly for few days but then I have to admit that it is very difficult to maintain my awareness of breath for longer periods as my desire to accomplish the required points limit is taking over my breath.
This in itself carries very important message for me but I will write about it another time and today I will focus on my other realisation which came from this experiment.
And so I have noticed while doing my experiment with the computer game that various parts of my body are continuously tensed. And there was no need that the muscles in my left hand or leg maintain the tension as I needed to do all the "work" just with my right hand holding the mouse. When I noticed it I said to myself immediately:
"Greg... WTF is that ?"
