And how does this one present makes damage for the environment ?
Once you multiply this one little present by at least few billions per year then you will start to see that this has huge impact on our environment.
But this is not just about the rubbish polluting the environment with presents. Obviously somebody has to produce it, deliver it to the shops etc. all these products and this has puts also a lot of stress on our ecosystem. And of course we cannot forget about the excessive plastic packaging which becomes stronger and more difficult to destroy and recycle. As a matter of fact I could go more in details of how one little present ( then multiplied billions of times ) shapes our whole life and the whole system in a negative way.
I have to say it again. I am not talking about the presents which are really useful and practical etc. I am talking about presents which become useless and senseless because the person does not like them or does not need them.
And here is one more thing... most of the consequences which humans, animals and the whole world has to pay is just because we follow the senseless tradition of giving presents or because we are afraid of "what would others say and think about me" if I did not buy a present or just for the sake of piece of mind. So this is an element of ego.
Those who receive the presents are equally responsible for all the consequences of this whole ordeal with presents. But not just with throwing them away and polluting the environment. There is much more to it. Look... every time you receive the present and you smile and thank you friends for buying it for you even though you don't like it ( but you pretend that you do ) you are participating in it. Instead of standing up and facing the situation and letting people know that you don't like the present so that people either give it away or at least know for the future to not buy you silly presents, you are pretending and lying. And this also strengthens - although it is a lie and illusion - the belief that they are doing something good and that it brings you joy.
Thus as you can see... one little present which is meant to be given to bring joy carries so much bullshit and does so much damage. And this damage is not just done to the environment. It is also done to you. You are literally harming yourself because you are this environment. You are one and equal with it.
So... think before you decide to buy a present next time. And also think when you receive present whether you are not supporting and participating in the destructive mind pattern.
