I am catching up with posting online my articles.
The other week I went to a disco. From time to time I got to dance with the girls but otherwise I sat there and observed people. I got especially interested in the group of 2 pretty girls and 4 guys. They were also dancing a little but most of time they sat at the table talking together and having few drinks. And I was observing them over some period of time and I was noticing how they were getting drunk - their body language was changing, their appearance and the movements were less coordinated. It is not that they got really drunk but it was easy to see the changes in their behavior.
It was obvious to me that the guys were trying to pick the girls up with the intention to get some sex that night. And I thought that would really reach their goal because the girls were getting easier as they drank more alcoholic drinks. But in the end I got surprised when I saw the girls walked away alone leaving the guys behind.
Anyway the point and the question is:
Why do we have to use mind altering substances like alcohol, drugs etc. to get other people to have sex with us ?
I know that not everybody does it but yet this is actually were common behavior in our society and thus I will use the expression "WE". So why do we do it ? If we did a questionnaire about it then one of the common answers would be that we are shy to go and talk to the girls or vice versa.
And this seems to make sense at first but why do we have to continue drinking more than 1 or 2 drinks and get really drunk ?
So you'll see... this gives me an indication that it is not about shyness but rather about our deeply "engraved" emotional problems which we don't want to face, confront and change within us but instead we use alcohol to suppress them further.
