I am catching up with posting online my articles.
Recently during my holidays I have visited one of my friends whom I have not seen for about 8 years. And during the conversation it came out that apparently I was interested in her. Or speaking in details apparently she had impression that I had interests of sexual nature towards her - so this time during my visit as well as it was 8 years ago.
You'll know... I use the word impression but later when I tried to clarify this whole situation I realized that this impression is actually something taken for certain and as absolute truth which cannot be changed. If she was talking about somebody else then maybe I could take it into consideration that this could be true and later I would confront it with the other person to make it clear if that was something important to me. But in this case she was talking about me and thus I was the ultimate witness to testify the truth. Surprisingly she could not comprehend it and despite my assurance that she is not my "type" and I never had interests of sexual nature in her, she was trying to tell me that her impressions are more valid than what I was saying. I tired to explain few times that this is not true but she had no intentions whatsoever to change her mind and her opinion about it.
Now... seeing that she is not interested in facts and what I am saying then I stopped talking about it because I know from experience that there is no point trying to convince a person that forms a belief in his/her mind about something. In a case like this it doesn't matter that the facts and reality are different because in this case people are completely blinded by the beliefs in their mind which seem to them more real than the reality.
