Painful consequences of having fun

I am catching up with posting online my articles.

In this article I will be looking at the point of various activities of human beings, which are being defined by them as fun though later they have to face the consequences of having this fun in the form of suffering.

Lol... this first sentence sounds very "official" or if I was a being from another planet ( alien ) and investigating and researching humanity from my space ship.

Well... I am not an alien. I am a normal human being just like you are one of them. And the activities, which are being defined by people as having fun is drinking alcohol and taking recreational drugs and other mind altering substances.

So tell me: how come you have defined drinking alcohol and getting drunk as having fun if the next day you are sick from it and you have to suffer the consequences of the hangover ?

Where is the fun in it ?

And how many times you have said to yourself and to others - after "heavy" drinking and having "serious" hangover - that you are not going to drink alcohol anymore in your life ? What you have actually meant within it that you are not going to drink anymore till the next weekend or the next occasion ( you did not mean "never again" ).

There is no logic in it whatsoever... is it ?

I understand that people define drinking and getting drunk as having fun because they don't look at the whole experience of it ( meeting with people, chatting, laughing while drinking and then having hangover the next day ) but instead they only focus on the "pleasant" part in the beginning. This is kind of typical because humanity lives in separation and it is very common to divide things and experiences and focus only on that, which is pleasant and of personal interest and ignore or block out the rest. Simply speaking we are not looking at the whole.

In the last 5 years I don't drink alcohol at all. But even before that I was never a "heavy" drinker. But yet once I have decided to get drunk and see how it goes. So I went with my friends to the bar and I started to drink tequila. And I have noticed that after 3 shots I was smiling and laughing which was kind of nice. But then after about 30 min of having "fun" I started to feel that my body and my stomach start to have "unpleasant" reaction to it. And I thought that I don't really need to continue with drinking and getting drunk because I already know where and how it is all going to end ( hangover and being sick the next day ). So I stopped the experiment because I knew that it is not fun at all.

Now... as a summary... drinking alcohol and taking drugs cannot be defined as having fun because the whole experience in its totality is not giving fun. It only alters the perception which gives the illusion of having fun in the beginning but later we have to pay and face the consequences of it in the form of sickness. And this is not fun at all. Thus as you see we need to redefine the word having fun because the way it is defined now is not funny at all.

To be continued...
