Many of you who did the experiment with your body and who found the points may be very surprised with the fact that they are so painful but yet you didn't know about it. And on many occasions these tender points have been there for some time already - weeks, months and even years.
Now... why do you have them there ?
It is because something is not functioning 100% and this is how your body is telling you about it. Pain is not normal and it should not be there. Thus you should never get used to pain unless there has been permanent damage to the tissue ( accident, operation ) or in the case of some serious genetic disorders and in some few other instances but generally the pain should not be there in your body. Though the pain becomes "normal" when you have abusive lifestyle, you are "disconnected" from your body, you ignore what your body is telling you by suppressing it with painkillers and other addictive substances or behaviours and then it becomes normal and you don't "feel" it anymore. You just simply get used to it. It is for example like wearing glasses. Usually in the beginning it is very annoying but then you get used to it. And sometimes you forget that your glasses are on top of your head and you are looking for them all over the house. And the same happens with the pain. You get used to it and you don't feel that it is there.
Here is another question...
Why would it be that you would complain about some tension in the shoulder and/or neck but during the experiment with touching your body you have found really painful points away from the neck and/or shoulder ?
