I have heard so many times people saying: "I will stop smoking cigarettes from tomorrow, next week, next month, new year etc." and then I see them failing time after time. And every time they are failing they are losing self confidence and self trusts.
It is all happening because they don't understand one point; if you want to make a change you must be ready to apply the change right in the moment - not next week, not tomorrow but now. You must be ready to apply the change in the moment, breath by breath. Tomorrow or the next month you will find yourself in exactly the same point and to be effective you will have to apply the change in the moment and execute it breath by breath. You will have exactly the same temptations, excuses and reasons to postpone it till another day, week, month or any other occasions. The only difference will be that if you have already fallen within this point few times, then as I said before, you will lose confidence and trust with yourself.
The key to the success with quitting smoking or any other addiction ( going on the diet, stopping eating chocolates, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, doing exercises etc. ) is to understand that tomorrow or next week it is not going to be easier to do it. The reality shows that it is actually more difficult. Thus to be successful you must understand that you must apply the change right now in this moment and later you have to maintain self-discipline and push yourself through any temptations that come your way no matter what.
You must also understand another point - there is nobody in the whole universe who can do it for you. There is no medicine in this world that would effectively make you stop your addictions. There are only pills which suppress temporarily the addiction and craving for cigarette or any other addiction but sooner or later you will fall and you will find yourself at exactly the same point where you will have to apply the change in the moment and then executed breath by breath. Thus you must understand that you are the only person in the whole universe who can stop your addictions - not even god can help you with that. And this is the key to the success.
I forgive myself that I have not allowed myself to realise that I have allowed myself to become addicted to cigarettes or any other substances and thus I am the only person in the whole universe who can stop the addiction.
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to hope that the medicine will stop my addiction.
I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to give my power away to the pills and medicine hoping that they will stop my addictions.
I forgive myself that I have not allowed myself to realise that any form of medicine made to cure the addiction is effective only temporarily because it suppresses the craving symptoms but eventually I would either need a stronger medicine or I will fall into the addiction again.
